Newly remastered from the original recording sessions, Gavin Salkeld's soundtrack to Joshua Courtade's 2018 film "Melody On Earth" is now available, including five tracks of bonus material. For this exclusive high-resolution release, Joshua had the following to say in January 2024:

"Because Melody on Earth is such a minimalist picture, the nondiegetic music is extremely sparse. Everything else exists within the reality of the story – the music playing in a bowling alley, the theme for a game show on television in the background, the scores for soap operas and various movies watched by the characters, etc. Having worked with Gavin on a few short films and a couple of commercials, I knew he had the versatility to compose the unusual kind of score this movie needed. The pieces he created for Melody on Earth work perfectly for the various scenarios, and the main title theme effectively captures the protagonist’s loneliness while still giving the audience permission to laugh at the comedy of the film. One of the biggest sequences that called for music was a movie-within-the-movie called Rocketship to Neptune, a throwback to cheesy 1960s science fiction adventures that’s woven into the climax of Melody on Earth. Gavin’s delightful score for the sequence nicely evokes the appropriate style and period flavor, and he was kind enough to provide an extended track for the uncut version of the Rocketship to Neptune short included as a bonus on the cast & crew DVDs."
